Simultaneity- In the same moment, Offred is resting her head on the tub because she is hurt and Serena is sobbing on the floor waiting for a pregnancy test results. They're both hurting for different reasons, Serena more emotionally and Offred more physically. The scene jump cuts between the two of them. You can note how they're both in the same position kneeling with their heads down. I feel that this was done on purpose. I feel like they did this so you would feel bad for both of them even though Serena is in the wrong. Its supposed to show her perspective of the situation. Parallelism- This scene is "the kick". All three scenes are happening at the same time. You can tell because of the music that can be heard in all three dream states. Its supposed to show the intensity of the scene. Even though it is happening at the same time, time is passing differently for every dream state. The one with the van falling into the water being the slowest. Even though they are ...

Contrast- I chose to show the contrast between my calm dog and when hes possessive of food. My dog is usually very sweet and loving except for when he thinks you're going to take his food. Then he will bite you. Complete 180. Parallelism- I chose to show my dogs eye, then my eye. I hoped to connect us and show our likeness and relationship using something we have n common. He sees me and I see him. Symbolism- I showed by cheer poms and what they result in. We use poms to help create great energy at games. Poms symbolize cheer. Simultaneity- While my dog sits in his chair I do homework. Those always happen at the same time because hes only up there when I'm doing homework. Leit Motiff- I got my inspiration from Jaws. Every time I showed my dog i wanted there to be a warning sound. It makes people think they should be afraid.

Inception: Movie shots

I chose to comment on the movie Inception. I've seen it a few times before and I like it so much, I chose to revisit it for this assignment. 1.       Establishing shot of children on the beach. They were playing and building a sand structure of some sort. Laughing and giggling could be heard throughout this scene too. They were also running around with each other. You can hear the waves crashing in the background again and again. It is a calm start to an otherwise face paced movie. 1.       This is an over the shoulder shot of the main character though we do not know he’s the main character yet. Since it is the beginning of the movie and we still do not know much, its kind of mysterious. The dialogue, as you can see from the closed captions, is ominous. It’s making you think who this guy is, and why might he want to kill the other character. Its doing a great job of drawing the viewer in to stay for the rest of the film. 1.   ...
I commented in Courtney and Thascha's shots. I liked the close shot of the squirrel she filmed. The mood it portrayed was personal. I liked the tilt shot of the lamp. I was seeing pretty much the whole thing but from a new perspective. The mood was kind of a purposeful disorientation.I liked the extreme long shot of her study area. The mood was cozy and warm especially because of the lighting. For Courtney I enjoyed the over the shoulder shot of her cat. I felt from the over the shoulder shot  a sort of playfulness.  I also enjoyed the low angle shot. It had a little bit of action and moved with the subject. It made the viewer feel small. Lastly, I liked the cutaway shot too. It felt like things were moving quickly. It invoked a sense of urgency.

This is a close up shot because i focused on only the pen. I just held my phone with one hand, and picked up the pen with the other. This is an establishing shot. Its of my house. It shows peacefulness.  This is a low angle shot of my dog. I'm not sure if you can tell but he was growling at me because he was growing tired of my antics. This is a head on shot of my plushie toy being thrown at the camera. I tried to get my dog to run toward the camera, but he was not cooperating.                                                                                        This is a high angle shot of my dog.I was above his head. I feel like he was confused on what I was doing.                          ...
Hi, its Janelle Cledanor. I'm taking this class because I'm a very big marvel fan and I think its interesting how so many stories can connect through film. It's interesting to see how the way something is shot can affect mood in such a drastic way. Also I need the credit.
