Mise- en- scene

Staging- In this shot Beck is focused on. The camera switches back and forth between beck and Jade, emphasizing the tension between them. It is now becoming more apparent that the song Jade is singing is about Jade. It is also important to note the fact that no one else is around Beck and even the background dancers behind Jade are somewhat blurred. You will also notice that in other shots during the scene, the rest of the main characters are grouped together. This symbolizes that they are not apart of this main storyline.

Lighting- In this scene, I tried to capture the lighting. You may notice the green led lights. It's currently night in this scene, and the led lights help create a fun "party" atmosphere. Through out this scene the lights change from different colors. You will notice as the scene goes on, and may even notice in the picture below that the main light will start to focus on Jade it self. Again emphasizing the intensity of this scene. At the start of the scene the lights are wild and erratic. By the end of the scene, it is only focused on Jade and Beck.
Costume- Jade is brought out to be the "emo" dysfunctional girl. You will notice that in this scene more than ever. She is singing a rebellious punk song and you may gather that from her outfit alone. You may pick this up in all characters. Cat- Bubbly, sparkly clothing. Tori- Skirts and solid clothing. Andre- Urban type clothing. Beck- "cool guy" clothing and so on. They remain loyal to these tropes throughout the series. Even the songs they sing add to their distinct personalities. That is why it is so important for their wardrobe to reflect them too. You will immediately notice when they stray away from it.
